Business Overview

In the first part, 'Sesshu: The World of Suiboku,' Sesshu's Suiboku Sansui-ga was projected on the back of the stage, and classical music pieces' Uchinami, '' Mitani, '' Sanya 'and his own music piece' Mizu 'were played in front of it, creating a three-dimensional Zen space.

The second part, 'Sesshu's Favorite Isseki-kiri Shakuhachi,' was on the theme of 'Isseki-kiri Shakuhachi' in the Middle Ages, and in particular, from each tune of 'Gochoshi' (five tones), Oshikicho tone 'Hatsute,' Hyojo tone 'Gonote,' Ikkoshi tone 'Iwamatsu,' Banshikicho tone 'Jishu no Sakura,' and Soto tone 'Shosode' were reproduced and performed. At the end of the performance, his own piece 'Tennone' was played, showing the connection between the Issekigiri shakuhachi in the time of Sesshu and today.

In the third part, "Painting Sesshu with a shakuhachi," a new shakuhachi solo by the up-and-coming composer Kaito Nakabori, "The Voice of Haboku" was premiered. In this film, a visual work by Makoto FUJIYAMA, which was created based on Sesshu's paintings, was projected. In addition, the live video projection method (VJ), in which the image changes in response to the performance sound, has created a new world by deepening the relationship between sound and image.
