Mitani Bunraku "Silai Seishinchu" was born in 2012. While paying homage to the tradition and art of bunraku, Koki Mitani created this classic entertainment with his new perspective and direction, conveying the appeal of bunraku not only to bunraku fans but also to bunraku beginners, and it continued to be performed in various places after 2012 and gained popularity.
The title of this long-awaited new work is "Doll Girai". Set in a Bunraku theater today, the protagonists are puppets and the puppets themselves play the roles.
For Mitani, who is taking on the challenge of bunraku again, the splendid members who are indispensable to Mitani bunraku are: Yoshida Ichisuke, who set up the performance of "Sorai Seishinchu" 13 years ago and won the New Power Prize of the Kansai Energetic Culture Circle Award in 2023, Tsurusawa Seisuke, who also composed the music for the previous performance, and Takemoto Chitosedayu, who also appeared in the previous performance and was promoted to the highest qualification for tayu, "kirigarashi" in 2022.
