2025 Social Support through Arts and Culture (Phase 2)

The "Social Support through Arts and Culture" program supports artistic activities in which people from various social environments can participate together and demonstrate their creativity while respecting each other's individuality, as well as activities that utilize the characteristics of arts and culture to address various social and urban issues. The purpose of this program is to support pioneering activities that promote the new significance of art and culture in society and the ideal way of art that is open to all people, as well as activities that steadily contribute to solving problems from a long-term perspective.
In FY 2025, we will focus on supporting projects that address disparities in children's art appreciation and experience opportunities.

Application period

From 10:00 on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 to 18:00 on Tuesday, August 5

Applications for the public offering are available online. Please use the application form to register the applicant, fill in the fields, and upload the necessary documents.

2025年7月1日に公募を開始する2025年度 第2期「芸術文化による社会支援助成」について、助成申請を検討されている方を対象に公募説明会(オンライン)を開催します。参加を希望される方は、各回締切日までに申し込みフォームからお申し込みください。
 ※参加に際しては「公募ガイドライン」を必ず事前にお読みください。
 ※公募説明会への参加は助成の採否には影響しません。
 ※申請にあたってのご質問は、お問い合わせフォームで承ります。

Implementation period of the target project
Projects beginning on or after January 1, 2026 and ending by December 31, 2026

[Priority Support in FY 2025]
The government will provide priority support for projects that address disparities in children's art appreciation and experience opportunities.

  1. Eligible activities (projects that fall under any of the following categories)
    (a) Activities in which people (especially children) who have limited opportunities to experience and participate in art due to their social environment can engage in artistic experiences, such as viewing and creating art, to demonstrate their creativity and enrich their imagination
    (b) Artistic activities in which the applicant group sets social issues based on its own awareness of issues and works to solve them through cooperation and collaboration with various people and organizations
  2. Target embodiments (projects that fall under any of the following)
    (a) Creative artistic activities (Performances, exhibitions, workshops, etc.)
    *I don't care about the field of art.
    (b) Environmental Improvement Activities (Human resource development, research, technology development, archiving, etc.)
    *Accompanying disclosure of results

Arts groups, intermediate support groups, welfare groups, NPOs, etc. based in Tokyo
* For "projects to eliminate disparities in art appreciation and experience opportunities for children," applications can be made if foundations or private companies operating public theaters, public halls, etc. are sponsors or co-sponsors of the project.

2 million yen and up to 2/3 of the subsidised expenses
* The subsidy amount is calculated by comprehensively judging the basic policy and budget of this subsidy program, so it may be less than the requested amount. Amounts less than 1,000 yen are rounded down.
* Starting from FY 2025, all consumption tax and local consumption tax will not be eligible for subsidies. Please be careful.

*Projects co-sponsored or affiliated with facilities managed by the Tokyo Metropolitan Foundation for History and Culture are not eligible for subsidies.
* Projects sponsored or co-sponsored by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government or the Tokyo Metropolitan History and Culture Foundation, or projects that have received or are scheduled to receive subsidies, subsidy, subsidy, commission fees, etc. from the Tokyo Metropolitan Government or the Tokyo Metropolitan History and Culture Foundation are not eligible for subsidies. However, projects that have received or are scheduled to receive a subsidy from the Tokyo Arts and Culture Appreciation Support Subsidy implemented by the Arts Council Tokyo may apply for this subsidy.
