"Social Grant" subsidizes artistic activities in which people from various social environments can participate together and demonstrate their creativity while respecting each other's individuality, as well as activities that take advantage of the characteristics of art and culture to tackle various social and urban issues. The purpose of this program is to raise the new meaning of art and culture in society, to promote pioneering activities that promote art that is open to all, and to support activities that steadily contribute to solving problems with a long-term perspective.
In FY2025, we will focus on supporting projects that address the gap in children's art appreciation and experience opportunities.

採択概況 [PDF]
◆ Number of applications (number of applications accepted): 41 (12)
The number of applications was 41, the highest ever for FY 2. This fiscal year, 27 projects, or more than 60% of the total, were targeted for projects that address disparities in art appreciation and experience opportunities for children. In addition, approximately 80% of the applicants were first time applicants for this grant, but the social issues to be addressed were ambiguous and explanations of the project plans and implementation systems were sometimes unclear.
The evaluation was based on a comprehensive assessment of planning, pioneering, originality, effectiveness, and continuous development. In addition, we focused on whether the characteristics and individual and specific needs of the business target were grasped in advance, whether a system for reaching the target and a system for implementing the business were sufficiently established, and whether the contents of the business were suitable for solving the social issues set out in the plan.
As a result of the screening, 12 projects were selected, including activities aimed at promoting a symbiotic society, activities for the expression of persons with disabilities, and projects to improve the viewing environment, in addition to projects that fall under the category of priority support. Among the selected projects, two projects aimed at eliminating disparities in children's artistic experiences in cooperation with external organizations and local residents were newly designated as multi-year priority support projects.
