In fiscal 2023, the Tokyo Metropolitan Foundation for History and Culture Arts Council Tokyo launched the Tokyo Live Stage Support Subsidy program as part of its cultural strategy aimed at improving the appeal of Tokyo's arts and culture. This subsidy is intended to support performing arts (Theater, dance, music, traditional arts, etc.) activities by small and medium-sized organizations that support the diversity of art and culture in Tokyo.
From a total of 321 projects that received applications during the public offering period (May 2, 2025 to May 22) of FY 2025 Phase 1, a total of 164 projects (with a total grant decision of 155,671,000 yen) were selected through the screening committee. This subsidy will end with this year's application. The second period is scheduled to open in early September, and the period covered by the grant is from December 20, 2025 to July 31, 2026.
