[Call for Participation] "Offline Hours" Screening Partner Recruitment

In March 2025, the art project "KINO Meeting", which conducts video production workshops for "people with overseas roots", released the movie "Offline Hours" and the making movie "Offline Hours Behind the Scene" that follows the production process.

Created through a year-long collaboration between members with different roots and primary languages, this work suggests new possibilities for communication and community.

This time, we are looking for partners to hold screenings of this film together with educational organizations and multicultural conviviality projects, in order to have many people interested in multicultural conviviality see this film, collect feedback on our efforts, and consider future developments. It can be used in a variety of ways, such as training within an organization to think about multicultural symbiosis or in classes. Please apply.

The film "Offline Hours" is an omnibus film consisting of three episodes: Spring, Fall and Winter, produced through a year-long workshop. Each episode is set in a late-night setting in Tokyo, and the characters who have "overseas roots" unfold in a play about "decisions." In the making of the film, Offline Hours Behind the Scene, the workshop participants involved in the production of the film exchange roles each season, including director, actor, and film crew, and build organic relationships on the set without a fixed hierarchy.

• Venue: Must be in and around Tokyo
• Screening dates: November 2025 to January 2026

conditions for lending works

• The rental fee for the movie is free.
  *We ask you to pay the shipping fee for returning the media for the screening.
• The condition is that the main part of "Offline Hours" and the making of "Offline Hours Behind the Scene" are shown together.
• We ask you to fill out a questionnaire to the planning organization and participants after the screening.

About KINO Meeting

"KINO Meeting" is an art project that develops video production workshops for "people with overseas roots". Workshop participants form groups, engage in dialogue with people with different roots, and engage in interviews and filming to confront their own and others' roots in a variety of ways. Then, through such collaboration, we create video works while exchanging each other's perspectives. The goal of the KINO Meeting project is to discover new visual expressions, new communications, and new ways of collaborative relationships (collectives) that are born in the process of video production, and to establish and disseminate these methods.
