"Textile Bar in FUCHU" will be held as a workshop where anyone can enjoy textiles.
The textile bar run by artist Taku Kumura is a workshop where you order your favorite yarn or cloth at the counter and make palm-sized textiles.
Handicrafts for the first time are welcome! There is also a time when a sign language interpreter comes in. Enjoy talking with your neighbors while making your own fabric!
Owner: Taku Kumura (artist and sculptor)
Born in Tokyo in 1977. Graduated from Tama Art University, Department of Sculpture in 2001. They actively select materials and techniques that are considered to be at the periphery of art, such as handmade and DIY, and create "pedestal-like" objects to create works that can only be established institutionally. There are many exhibitions in Japan and overseas. In recent years, she has shown interest in expanding the scope of art through workshops and collective activities. He is currently exhibiting his work at the “Joy of Making, DIY for Living ” exhibition at the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum (Ueno) until October 8, and opening a textile bar.

What is "Experience and see a symbiotic society"?
This is a cultural project that Fuchu City is working on in cooperation with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and Arts Council Tokyo to realize a symbiotic society. Last year, we produced a distribution program called "Listen to and See a Symbiotic Society" to listen to guests who are working on activities related to a symbiotic society. This year, we will carry out an experience program titled "Touching and seeing a symbiotic society".
