International Activities Course 2025
A course to learn skills useful in international arts and culture activities and common issues in arts and culture throughout the world.
In fiscal 2025, we invited artists with extensive experience working overseas to deepen their learning through lectures on real experiences and lectures on common global issues, focusing on climate change.
Understanding Global Issues: Arts and Culture and Climate Change (close-up lecture)
In fiscal 2024, we invited lecturers who have tackled climate change issues in the field of arts and culture and have conducted various research and activities both in Japan and overseas. We introduced the latest international trends and considered what each person in charge of arts and culture activities can do.
In this lecture, we will introduce the latest initiatives based on an awareness of international issues, including the Japanese version of the Theater Green Book published by Image Nation Green, a general incorporated association represented by lecturer Hiroko Oshima, and the Japanese versions of various guidelines prepared by Arts Initiative Tokyo [AIT/8], an NPO to which Roger McDonald belongs. Through dialogue on the common denominators of the Guidelines and practices in the creative field, we will further deepen our understanding of this important global issue.

Useful Know-how: Practical Q&A (Regular Course)
While it is a dream for many artists to work and present abroad, there are many challenges to overcome, including language and cultural barriers, practical procedures, and networking. In this course, artists and art workers in the fields of music, dance, and art who have extensive experience working overseas will be invited to participate in a roundtable discussion. They will share their real experiences in the form of a roundtable discussion, covering everything from the impetus for going overseas to specific preparations, the actual conditions of their activities in the field, and the difficulties they faced, as well as their lessons learned and ideas. Furthermore, we will share know-how based on actual experience on common topics such as contract negotiation techniques, trouble handling, and international literacy.
