As part of the Tokyo CITY CANVAS project led by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, the Tokyo Foundation for History and Culture Arts Council Tokyo has been supporting the Tokyo CITY CANVAS grant since this fiscal year.
This subsidy provides 1/2 of the cost to art projects that create new urban landscapes by creating attractive spaces through art using temporary enclosures at construction sites in the streets of Tokyo. It also provides actual support (with an upper limit) for the creation of art designs by artists.
By supporting private-sector activities, we will create an environment where everyone can enjoy art and create new attractions in cities.
We have decided which projects will receive the Tokyo City Canvas grant for fiscal 2024.
This year, 1 project was selected out of 10 projects that received applications. The total amount decided to issue is 13,331,500 yen. The next round of applications is scheduled for the end of the fiscal year.
