As part of its cultural strategy aimed at improving the attractiveness of Tokyo's arts and culture, the Arts Council Tokyo is implementing a program to support the creation of attractive arts and culture. In order to support more artists and staff, this grant is intended for innovative creative activities, festivals, and art projects that have sustained and ripple power and involve multiple organizations and many artists. In addition, as separate support expenses, actual support (with a maximum amount) will be provided for expenses for improving accessibility so that diverse people can touch and enjoy art and culture, and for digital development expenses for pursuing new ideas and expressions that integrate technology.
From a total of 79 applications received during the public offering period of Period 2 (Thursday, August 25 to Friday, September 30, 2022), a total of 27 projects (with a total grant decision of 172,863,000 yen) were selected through the Review Board. This included 7 grants for accessibility support and 2 grants for digital development support (15.09 million yen).
