As part of its cultural strategy aimed at improving the attractiveness of art and culture in Tokyo, the Tokyo Metropolitan Foundation for History and Culture, Arts Council Tokyo, is supporting the creation of attractive arts and culture. In order to support more artists and staff, this grant is intended for innovative creative activities, festivals, and art projects that have sustained and ripple power and involve multiple organizations and many artists. In addition, as separate support expenses, actual support (with a maximum amount) will be provided for expenses for improving accessibility so that diverse people can touch and enjoy art and culture, and for digital development expenses for pursuing new ideas and expressions that integrate technology.
From a total of 127 projects that received applications during the public application period (May 9, 2022 to May 27), a total of 41 projects (with a total grant decision of 333,137,000 yen) were selected through the screening committee. Of these, 12 projects for accessibility support and 2 projects for digital development support (21,942,000 yen) were also decided.
