"metote-lab" is a laboratory in which deaf people, deaf people, and CODA (hearing people with deaf parents) who speak visual language (Japan sign language) take the lead in creating a place for emergence (home) based on each person's senses and language. We carry out various projects on the theme of cultivating a natural culture consisting of visual language.
The Archive Project is conducting research and discussions on new archival methods and utilization of the life culture of deaf people who use sign language under the theme of "Preserving the Natural Life Culture Born from Sign Language".
About Portrait Rights and Digital Archives
In this project, we will discuss important rules that everyone should know when dealing with videos and records that are closely related to personal life, such as home videos.
This time, we will welcome Ai Mabuchi, the representative of Musashi Fuchu Arquivio, who is engaged in archiving activities through 8mm films and old photographs left in the Fuchu area, as a guest. After introducing Alkivio's activities, I would like to take up some examples related to copyright and portrait rights in my activities, and make it a place to think about what I think about the rights of owners when screening and archiving, what issues there are, and what I want to do in the future.
Why don't you think about it with Mr. Mabuchi and the metote-lab members?
