personality
Natsumi Seo (Artist/NOOK)
Born in Tokyo in 1988. Artist. He majored in painting at the Graduate School of Fine Arts, Tokyo University of the Arts. He creates pictures and texts while considering the language of the local people and the record of the scenery. In 2012, he moved to Rikuzentakata, Iwate Prefecture, with filmmaker Haruka Komori. While working at a local photo studio, he was based in the city. In 2015, he founded "NOOK," a collective to consider records and documentation of Tohoku in Sendai City. Currently, she travels to various places and writes stories on the theme of "unspeakability." They also plan exhibitions and workshops in collaboration with dancers and filmmakers, and with public facilities and NPOs involved in recording and welfare.
Major exhibitions he participated in included the Yokohama Triennale 2017 and the 12 Ebisu Film Festival. His most recent work is "Niju no Machi/Kotaichi no Uta wo Haru" (Haruka Komori and Natsumi Seo). He wrote "Rikuzentakata Living in the Aftermath of the Earthquake"(Shobunsha, 2019) and (Shoshi Kanbo, 2021). He co-authored "10 Years' Notes" (Ikenobu Books).
DAICHI NAKAMURA (Writer/Director/Director of Atsuba Heights/NOOK)
Born in Tokyo in 1991. He graduated from the Faculty of Letters, Tohoku University. While still in school, he started the theater company "Attic Heights."
Based in Sendai for 8 years. He has lived in Tokyo since 2018. Even now, he moves back and forth between Sendai, Yokohama and Tokyo, and continues to create plays that are useful for people to survive. "Koko wa deguchi na nai" (It's Not the Exit) won the 2nd Ningen za 'Minoru Tabata Drama Award.'. He won the Audience Award and the Outstanding Director Award for his performance of Chekhov's "Cherry Orchard" at the Toga Theater Competition 2019. In recent years, he has expanded his activities to include writing novels. 2020 ACY-U39 Artist Fellowship.
