We will create "An environment where anyone can enjoy arts and culture anytime, anywhere" through the development of information and communications infrastructure at metropolitan cultural facilities, the utilization of collections by expanding databases, the planning and development of digital programs, and the creation of new viewing experiences utilizing cutting-edge technologies.
Development of new programs utilizing ICT
Based on the improvement of the information environment and the disclosure of digital archives, we plan and develop new programs that actively utilize ICT. The Edo-Tokyo Museum of Tokyo and the Edo-Tokyo Open Air Architectural Museum will hold a workshop on the use of collection data in educational settings, aiming to develop new value and use through collaborative learning. In addition, the Tokyo Bunka Kaikan will provide a new appreciation experience by implementing a music appreciation support program utilizing video technology and other technologies.
Enhancement of digital archives
Through the operation of Tokyo Museum Collection (ToMuCo) - Search of Tokyo Metropolitan Museum and Art Museum Collections, a database that allows users to search across the collections of six metropolitan museums (Tokyo Metropolitan Edo-Tokyo Museum, Edo-Tokyo Open Air Architectural Museum, Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum, Tokyo Metropolitan Garden Art Museum, Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography, and Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Contemporary Art), we are working toward open data. We will also digitize valuable materials, migrate video materials, and publish and utilize 3D data.
