Project Overview
Establish an expansion model for creating, performing, and inheriting gikoten rakugo (New rakugo that matches modern values while retaining the flavor of classic rakugo), and promote the spread and development of rakugo culture by making gikoten rakugo a regular program that can be heard frequently at yose, or classical rakugo.
[First Year Project Overview]
12 Futatsume, who were both popular and talented, were asked to create new gikoten rakugo, and rakugo performances were held 3 times at the small theater of the Fukagawa Edo Museum (Koto Ward, Tokyo). The video of each performance was recorded and distributed online at a later date.

In addition, several study meetings (closed to the public) were held for the purpose of improving the skills of rakugo writers and sharing information, to analyze the structure and expression of rakugo, and to exchange information on copyright of rakugo scripts and reperformance fees. In addition, they prepared to build a system and conducted interviews with rakugo storytellers in order to open a data bank called "Hanashi Bank," in which many rakugo storytellers can perform gikoten rakugo.

(Other) Several study sessions (closed to the public) were held to improve the skills of rakugo writers and to share information. In addition to sharing creative know-how among the writers, in the second year we invited a rakugo storyteller as a lecturer and learned a lot from the rakugo world, including rakugo script customs and advice from the performer's point of view. A pilot version of the "Hanashi Bank," a data bank for rakugo storytellers, has been completed. In preparation for the start of the operation, we have been studying rules for posting and use.

Started planning and running rakugo shows in June 2020. At present (as of May 2025), he is sponsoring 'Gikoten Rakugo no Evening,' a solo performance by Asae SHUNPUTEI (Asae's investigation), a solo performance by Kofune YANAGIYA (Kofune Nanato), and a party of young rakugo storytellers (Bokura no Rakugo-do).
