Business Overview
The Nohkyogen Appreciation Society has created a great sensation with its epoch-making attempt to perform with sign language by the performers themselves, and this time, it will be performed using international sign language, which is gaining interest in the run-up to the Deaflympics Tokyo Games in November 2025. The sign language kyogen performed by the Japan Deaf Theater Company in France last July was the triumphant return of “The Purple Thief, ” which was performed in international sign language, and the noh performance was performed in international sign language by Kita-ryu noh actors, waki-kata (supporting actors), and kyogen-kata (kyogen performers). With the help of International Sign Language, the "language of sight," he has presented Japan's representative traditional theater to the world. 1.
