Business Overview
There are many places in Machida City that were related to Kamakura samurai and peasant soldiers, and in Daisen-ji Temple in Shimo-Oyamada-cho, there is a grave of the Oyamada family who were said to be the powerful gokenin of the Kamakura bakufu. There is also a legend in Naruse that Yoshisada NITTA saddled a pine tree to rest his horse when he attacked Kamakura. On the other hand, in Onoji-cho (Onoji-mura at that time), Isami KONDO, Toshizo HIJIKATA, Soji OKITA and others are said to have attended swordsmanship training at the end of the Edo period, and thereafter the Onoji Farmers' Corps was formed and swordsmanship and gunnery training were actively conducted. The Machida Jidai Matsuri is held every October as a festival where visitors can feel the history and culture of the area, and shows off events such as the Jidai procession, gunnery, iai and yabusame.
