"William Adams, also known as Anjin MIURA" Countertenor: Fergal Mostin-Williams Piano: Otaka Marie Narration: Takeuchi Daiki < Description > The life of William Adams, who was the first Englishman to visit Japan, and a man called Miura Anjin who later served Ieyasu and died in Japan, are presented as a single story combining various songs and adding narration and the recitation of Anjin's letters. The songs were composed mainly of English songs (Purcell, Vaughan Williams, Warlock.), French melodies (Foret, Duparque) and German leets (Berg), and two songs composed on the haiku of Matsuo Basho by British-Canadian composer Isabella Gellis were also performed for the world premiere.

Profile

[Marie Otaka]
After majoring in phonetics at Waseda University and Sophia University Graduate School, she entered the workforce before graduating from Toho Gakuen Junior College of Arts. He went to England to study English songs. She completed the Master's and Artist Diploma programs at the Royal College of Music, majoring in piano accompaniment. While still a student, she won awards for best accompanist in several vocal competitions. In addition to performing instrumental and vocal recital accompaniment, he has also played bass notes in classical music ensembles and colepeture in operas.
Currently, she is an accompanist at Toho Gakuen Junior College of Arts, and 1 million artists are registered for classical concerts.
