Business Overview
“Niigata, ” written by poet Kim Ji-jong (b. 1929), who came to Japan as a refugee after the Cheju Island Apr. 3 incident, asks how to live with the division of Joseon while living in Japan. By rewriting this poem as a photographic work from the perspective of a person of a different generation and history, I tried to multiply the roots and reflect them diffusely on the extension of the living/living times of others near and far. Profile
Lee Hu-jin
Photographer, filmmaker and artist. Born in Tokyo in 1991. He lived in Seoul from the age of four to seven. He currently lives in Tokyo. Starting with his immigrant background, he explores his roots. The theme is the phenomenon that occurs in the relationship between people and land, and while facing the Korean Peninsula and East Asia, it expresses the complexity and richness contained in historical twists. The group of works is a map of the relationship between me and society that is reformed through the production, and at the same time, the overlap of multiple events is placed in a single work, which enables viewers to interpret multiple meanings.
