Profile

【 General Incorporated Association Body Arts Laboratory 】
The Body Arts Laboratory (BAL) was established in Tokyo in 2008 as an organization run by artists with a focus on dance performance, and became a general incorporated association in 2021. In addition to dance performances, through symposiums in which artists, critics, and producers from other fields exchange and talk, and through joint productions, the project illuminates the current perspective of dance as a physical art. Held 9 Whenever Wherever Festivals (WWFes) in Tokyo until 2021. With an emphasis on radicality and the introduction of a curator system, it has a unique presence in the field of physical art with the concept of becoming a network that connects artists in the process of creation.
