Business Overview
A music festival that fuses improvised music and art performances to weave a relationship between the theater and the community. The festival has been held every year since its first event in 2008, and this year marked its 17th. Produced by Koichi Makigami, Hiromichi Sakamoto, and Kiyoto Fujiwara, this one-of-a-kind lineup features leading musicians from Japan and abroad, not only at the theater but also at the park and in front of the station using a miniature theater called "JAZZ Byobu," as well as programs that parents and children can enjoy, and the city of Sengawa is colored with improvised music and art. This year's event was filled with unique programs and exciting performances such as John Zorn's 40 year anniversary performance of the game piece “COBRA, ” a special collaboration of“ Suzume no Tears, ” a bold arrangement of Japanese folk songs with Balkan and Tuva music, and a live painting by Hisashi Shiriagari.
