Business Overview

Based on the performances in 2022 and 23, this program contrasts 17 century Bohemian music with German music. With violinist Anais Chen and singer Yusuke Watanabe as guests, the program incorporated Habsburg Catholic music and cantata, which was gradually becoming popular in Germany at the time, to achieve a wider range of musical expressions than the previous program.

Profile

[Ensemble Academia Musica]
Ensemble featuring period instruments organized by Tomohiro Sugimura, a natural trumpeter who studied at the Hague Royal Conservatory of Music and the Basel Scola Cantorum. With a focus on chamber music from the German and Austrian regions of the 17 century, which is rare to be played in Japan, the project aims to disseminate the charm of ancient music to the whole country, faithfully following the instruments and playing methods of the time. Since 2022, the group has held regular concerts in Tokyo, Kyushu, Shikoku and other locations, as well as master classes for guest musicians from Europe.
