Business Overview
Eight people from Handles, a dance team for people with disabilities, and eight people from Condors, a dance company, gathered under the supervision of Kondo Ryohei, the leader of Condors, to carefully create one-on-one interactive creations that took about six months. With social inclusion, respect for diversity, and the realization of a symbiotic society as one of the SDGs as his main themes, he created a multilayered and multicentric style. We are proud that we were able to share with the audience the beginnings of the realization of a symbiotic society by utilizing the capabilities of "Condors," which performed in approximately 30 countries around the world and sold out performances at NHK Hall on the same day, and by performing works that vividly transcend the presence or absence of disabilities, making the most of each individual "Condors." The opening act was Bushman, led by Ikumi Kurosu, a dance company that will be responsible for the next generation, to convey the appeal of contemporary dance from multiple perspectives. By presenting the power of the performing arts to address social issues in a pop, humorous and dynamic way, the event opened up possibilities for the relationship between art and social issues, and contributed to the development of culture and art in this country and the realization of a symbiotic society. ROCKSTAR Co., Ltd. was established in November 2005. The company is mainly in charge of promotion and management of the dance company "Condors" which was established in 1996. Condoles made his big break at the Tokyo Globe Theater in 1999. Moved to the US in 2000. The N.Y. Times raved about it. Since then, he has been invited to perform in more than 30 countries around the world. In Japan, he has been on a hall tour throughout Japan every year since 99. In 2005, Kondo received the Shuji TERAYAMA Award of the Asahi Prize for Performing Arts. The performance at Shibuya Public Hall sold out on the same day. Appeared on TBS 'Konjaku Tairiku' (Continent of Passion). In 2016, the NHK Hall performance commemorating the 20 year anniversary was sold out on the same day and the additional performance was performed. In 2017, Ryohei KONDO, the director, received the Minister of Education Award for Fine Arts from the Agency for Cultural Affairs. In 2022, KONDO, who presided over the theater, assumed the position of artistic director of Sai no Kuni Saitama Art Theater. In addition to performing the Condors, we are also engaged in activities such as fostering the next generation, performing for local citizens, performing for people with disabilities, and performing for young children.
