Business Overview

Six groups of musicians with disabilities (E.G., hemiplegia, upper limb injury, aphasia) that directly affect their ability to play musical instruments or sing songs performed in this concert. A flute player with a disabled left hand played an instrument modified for one-handed use with his right hand, and a pianist with a disabled right hand played with his left hand alone. For the performers, it became an opportunity to perform and a place for exchange between performers in similar situations across genres. At the same time, it is an effort to raise public awareness of the need to make musical instruments more accessible in the field of music, and to promote the simple beauty of music in the context of limitations.

Profile

【Onehand MUSIC Groove】
With “I won't give up on music even if I have a disability!” as their motto, they started their activities in 2022 aiming for barrier-free music. The project will explore the possibilities of para music through collaboration among musical instrument makers, engineers, composers, and others, while exploring needs that will lead to the development of instruments and aids that can be played with one hand. Organize concerts with the aim of promoting interaction and social recognition among musicians with disabilities.
