This work was inspired by Svetlana Alexievich's (2015 Nobel laureate in literature) Chernobyl's Prayer for the Future. As the text is read aloud, six male and female dancers dance in a matter-of-fact manner, revealing the innocence and folly of human beings and the strength and preciousness of life. After its premiere at the Theater Tram in 2016, it was reperformed at the Toyohashi Art Theater and Kyoto University of the Arts, and received high acclaim as a rare work that delicately and patiently captures the aspect of modern life and human existence in the midst of various conflicts such as wars and disasters.
