Business Overview

This is a new theatrical performance using Cherfitsch's new method of directing (visual theater). In the past, "visual theater" has been held as theater performances and exhibitions in museums and theater exhibition spaces, but this work brings the method of "visual theater" to the stage space. Two translucent screens will be set up, and actors and musicians will appear only by way of projection onto the screens. The audience sits in the auditorium and watches the images projected on the screen on the stage. At the same time, they use their imagination to create the illusion that there is a space for the performance of the play, and start the performance of the play in their minds. After performing in Tokyo, Gwangju and Seoul in 2022, it was performed at the Singapore International Festival of Arts and Djakarta International Theater Platform. It was the first performance of Cherfitsch in Singapore in 15 years since "5 Days in March" in 2008, and the first in Jakarta.

It was established in 1997 as a theater company in which Toshinori Okada wrote and directed all works. His unique method of using language and physical relationships has been highly praised, and he has attracted attention both at home and abroad as a leading contemporary theater company. Since his debut overseas in 2007 with "March no 5 days" (winner of the 49 Kishida Kunio Drama Prize), he has performed in more than 90 cities in Japan and overseas.
