Business Overview

Percussion ensembles are a form of music often performed in brass band competitions and contests. These days, in addition to classical music, some include black music and (contemporary) improvisation. However, considering the origin of all the music, the number of players who can perform is limited, and it tends to be 'music for a contest' rather than the content of the music. We aim to create an ensemble that stands apart from "contest music," and we want to expand the real world of percussion ensembles to audiences and amateur musicians. Embracing these shared values, Kakizaki, Kubota, Kudo and Shibata formed the percussion ensemble "CROWS". Each of them has a solid backbone in classical music, jazz, etc. With this project at Meguro Persimmon Hall, we would like to take a new step forward, determine the direction of "CROWS," and connect it to future content production.

Profile

[fippamusic]
fippamusic is an organization that continues to pursue the fusion and reconstruction of Western classical music, black music such as jazz, and Japanese gagaku that has been handed down over 1000 years.
Now that globalization is advancing and society is changing faster than ever, music culture is facing a crisis. We believe that music on a commercial basis will not move the audience. Now is the time to transcend the boundaries of genres and find meaning in exploring the future of music. It was established as an organization to focus on continuously exploring new sounds.
In addition to performances, I would like to frequently hold workshops, performances by musicians, and open lessons to stimulate local musicians and enthusiasts who have few options like those in the Tokyo metropolitan area.
