Business Overview
This project connected the two dots of Tokyo and Mexico City, looked at the city from a broad perspective, uncovered problems, and tried to spawn a new culture. In Mexico City, Ryoko KIMURA, MES, Ryota SHIMAMOTO and Yoshidayama exhibited. Based on traditional Japanese techniques and motifs, Kimura Ryoko created the mural paintings, which are representative of Mexican art. The half-body dragon holding a soccer ball and the statue of a half-naked male deity suggested cultural exchange and cultural transformation. MES made black candles and conveyed its message through a performance in which it showed itself against the international situation of war, and received high praise. Ryota Shimamoto presented an installation that evokes the explosion of a mine that contributed to the modernization of Mexico, creating the illusion that the histories of the two countries' cities are mixed. The continuous sound of a handmade record played by Mt. Yoshida was played in the hall, which had the effect of making visitors think about the city. In Tokyo, APRDELESP presented an architectural model and video of a clash between music fans to examine the friction that occurs in the city from many angles.
