Business Overview

Various cultures exist in various parts of Japan, and with this cultural background, traditional crafts that are unique to each region and proud of the world have been cultivated. In this project, among the craftsmen (Takumi) who are responsible for traditional crafts, mainly young craftsmen who are active in various fields around Japan will meet together in Tokyo. Through events based on the concept of "touch," such as touching works and craftsmen, interacting with makers and users, and interacting with multiple generations, we will rediscover the value of traditional crafts as well as the charm of each region behind them. Traditional crafts are also highly valued in the context of the SDGs. By touching the exhibits and interacting with the craftsmen, you can enjoy the charm of traditional crafts through your five senses.

Profile

【 General Incorporated Association TAKUMI-Art du Japan 】
The skills and spirit of "Takumi," which Japan is proud of, are not only expressed in excellent cultural properties and products, but also contribute greatly to Japan's competitiveness by becoming the source of cutting-edge technology that supports modern industry behind the scenes.
The delicacy of the "Takumi" spirit, the respect for the unseen, and the fear, respect, and love of nature that underlie it are the core of the Japanese way of life that is admired by the world today.
This spirit of "craftsmanship" is now in danger. We will promote activities to restore the spirit of "Takumi" to the center of society.
