Business Overview

To commemorate the 10 year anniversary of the establishment of the Franco-Japanese Contemporary Music Association, a group consisting of Japanese and French musicians, a total of 3 concerts were held in which composers, musicians and musicologists from both countries gathered together. In the 2 performances in September, the 2 pianos and 4 pianists gave an overview of contemporary piano music over 100 years, focusing on the Japanese premiere of Edgar Vallese's "America" on 2 pianos. The November performance featured a total of 11 pieces performed by 15 members, including works by the late Masayuki NAGATOMI and Akira TANBA, who were honorary advisors to the association, works by the highly respected French members of the association, Benjamin Attaire and Florent Caron-Dallas, as well as new and premiered works by Japanese members.

【 Japan-France Contemporary Music Association 】
The Japan-France Contemporary Music Association was established for the purpose of promoting musical cultural exchange between the two countries, with the main members being Japanese musicians and musicologists who love the music that was learned and nurtured in France, and French musicians and musicologists who have close ties with Japan. There are concerts focusing on modern and contemporary works from Japan and France, master classes by French lecturers, lectures on music analysis, and so on.
