Business Overview
This is an experimental event with audience participation that interprets and expands the ritual actions of "burial" and "celebration" as physical expressions. Artist Yuko Okada served as general director, and a team of engineers (Media artist Torajiro Aida, engineer Daisuke Kuramoto, etc.) radically modified VR equipment to create an AR experience that tactilely synchronizes physical figures with vision. It is a multi-layered spatial art where viewers can enjoy the personal AR experience itself as a performance with music and narration. With the addition of fashion designer Hiroko Ito's original costume for the funeral ceremony, original background music by Akira Nishikawa, and a wreath offering performance by Senyo Kikuchi and the audience, a theatrical space was created in which diverse artists were involved in a complex manner and created together with the audience. Guided by the sound of Yuko Okada's narration, which can be viewed online, it became an experiential art where the audience can enjoy the whole town of Jinbocho by actively walking around the two venues.
