Business Overview

Yukiza, which is based in Koganei City, will hold a studio performance with the aim of revitalizing the region through Edo Itoa puppets. The programs performed are the three classic programs inherited by the Yuki Theater, and in particular, 'Tokaido Chu Hizakurige ~ Akasaka Namiki to Tamagotoba ~' has been popular for the dialogue between live Shinnai Dannarration and puppets, as well as the stage background projection of images. In order to deepen the understanding and interest of the audience who are not familiar with the classics, the puppets and works are explained during the intermission, and after the performance an after-talk is held. [Edo Itoayatsuri Ningyo Yuki Za]
During the Edo period when Japanese culture flourished, the first Magosaburo YUKI started his company in Nihonbashi in 1635 (Kanei 12), and it became a company authorized by the bakufu. Magosaburo YUKI the 13th currently serves as the leader. Under the slogan of "two wheels of classics and new works," he has been deepening the classics and traditions, while also projecting the spirit of social satire and avant-garde on the stage in contemporary theater. It has performed not only in Japan but also in dozens of countries around the world, and is the only Itoayatsuri puppet theater company in Japan that has been designated as an intangible cultural property of the nation and Tokyo.
