Profile

[Koenji Engei Matsuri Executive Committee]
In the Koenji area, there have been many vaudeville performers for a long time, and there is a climate to protect and nurture them. There used to be an entertainment hall that accommodated several hundred people, and even today there are several shops that hold yose regularly in addition to the theater 'Za Koenji.'. The festival has been developed by gathering them at one time and recruiting new venues. By performing vaudeville performances centered on rakugo, the purpose is to make people feel familiar with it and recognize it as a cultural art of the Koenji area.
