Business Overview
The purpose and purpose of this project is to provide opportunities for artists to engage in production activities while engaging with local communities and people in the Meguro area of Tokyo, and to accompany the process. In addition, we challenged to create an experience and environment where local residents can feel and talk about art in their daily lives, rather than being separated or isolated from their daily lives. The participating artists are young domestic and international artists who are deeply involved in society and want to make a difference. 7 people (3 people and 2 people) | Photographer Maureen Eggleton (from Mexico), textile artist Makiko Sugino, contemporary dancer Mei Yamanaka, director/producer Momo Hachisu, director/drama Turku Chichi Sone, curator Yangyu, art school student/printmaker Kurage participated. In this AIR, we did not set the output of the completed work as the goal of the final product, but focused on how we could proceed with the production while disclosing the exploration process. During their stay, the artists participated in and planned events and workshops to engage with the local community, which were utilized in their productions. In addition, past works were exhibited throughout the period, and a closing exhibition was also held in which even the works that were researched and produced during the period or those that were in progress were exhibited and presented. MISHIO directed and executed the operation under the supervision of Tsuchiya. Cultural anthropologist Yu Mizukami also participated in the event, analyzing the impact of the AIR on local communities and facilitating talks with artists.
