Business Overview
Part 23 of a series in which Michio Miyagi's entire works are played along with the historical background. This time, he performed 10 pieces from 1950 to 1953. The wide range of Michio Miyagi's music was demonstrated through a varied program, including the koto solo, “Early Autumn Evening, ”“ Tanabata Matsuri, ” “Honobonoto, ”“ Umegagani, ” and “Sankyo Corporation Theme Music, ” the violin duet,“ Sakura Sakura, ” the koto, kokyu, and shakuhachi trio, “Akanko no Hitori, ” the koto, kokyu, and shakuhachi ensemble,“ Showa Shochikubai, ” “Ozorawo, ” and the grand ensemble,“ Haru no Fu. ”. Mihoko NOGAWA provided commentary, Tamaki ANDO, Manami ISHII and other members of Kikokai, Tamami HIGASHINO (sho flute), Kenichi TAJIMA (shakuhachi), Tomobiyama (shakuhachi), Takeshi KIRIYAMA (violin) and Morio KITAGAWA (flute) played supporting roles. Daiki TSURUKAWA was in charge of tuning instruments, and Sou FUJIMOTO and Fumio HATTORI were in charge of recording.

Profile
[Masateru ANDO]
Became a disciple of Michio MIYAGI at the age of seven, and continued to study under Kiyoko MIYAGI. He completed a doctoral course at Tokyo University of the Arts (Japan's first doctorate by a musician). He won the first prize at the first contest of Miyagikai. He has held 39 recitals since 1972. In 1990, he began performing all of Michio MIYAGI's works consecutively and continues to do so. In addition to being a professor at Tokyo University of the Arts, he has taught at universities in Japan and overseas. Acted in over 30 countries including Carnegie Hall and Musikferrein. There are many CDs of classic and Miyagi works.
