Business Overview

Koto player Michiyo Yagi has been pursuing her own unique style for many years. In 2023, her diverse activities drew attention from Mario Steitl, general director of the Saalfelden Jazzfestival in Austria, who invited her as an "Artist in Residence," and from Janning Trumann, general director of Cologne Jazzweek in Cologne, Germany, who invited her as a "Featured Artist." Yagi will perform on her own electric 21-string koto and 17-string koto, incorporating electronics and vocals. She will also perform improvisations and original compositions with leading European musicians in her duo "Dojo" with drummer Tamaya Honda.
