A small area called Orito Street in Otsuka, Toshima Ward, Tokyo, will hold a summer festival that takes advantage of its characteristics as a town with a theater, and will promote cultural exchange and revitalization through casual enjoyment of culture. The festival was intended to reflect the originality and ingenuity of theatergoers, while at the same time providing theatergoers with new creative stimulation and discoveries through interaction with local communities and other groups. 1. As a place to see and enjoy culture, the Man Theater short story collection, "Small Stories of Orito Street," features works created from interviews with local shopping districts by eight theater groups. Six sword fighting groups competed in the sword fighting festival. 2. A cultural experience hall was set up as a place to experience and enjoy culture. In addition to yosakoi, dance, koto, shamisen, and ballet by local groups, theater games, ninja, and sword fighting experiences were held by theater companies and sword fighting groups. 3. In order to make the whole of Orito Street a festival space, a mini show was held by a theater group and a sword fighting group at an outdoor venue, and a greeting was held by actors in costume at a festival stall venue sponsored by the shopping district.
