Business Overview

This project aimed to further develop the Tsugaru-jamisen as a traditional Japanese musical instrument, and held concerts focusing on folk songs and traditional Japanese musical instruments. Guests such as Fukushi Toyosaka, a folk song singer, conveyed the appeal of Tsugaru folk songs, while Takikita Eizan, a shakuhachi performer, and Sasaki Shinya, a Tsugaru shamisen performer, created original songs based on folk songs from a new perspective and explored the potential of Japanese musical instruments. This performance was held at Kioi Small Hall, a hall dedicated to traditional Japanese music, but with the cooperation of the technical team of sound and lighting staff, we were able to create a stage that feels new and in line with the current times while maintaining the tradition.

Formed in 2008 by Shirafuji Hikari and Takeda Kazumi, this authentic Tsugaru shamisen duo is a female Tsugaru shamisen duo that has been popular worldwide, with each member having won the national championship. KIKI's specialties include folk song arrangements that incorporate various musical genres while cherishing the traditional Tsugaru shamisen style of "minyo," as well as original songs that they compose themselves, making full use of the Tsugaru shamisen technique.
