Business Overview

This is the second performance to be held at the Yukiza Studio in Musashi-Koganei, Musashi-Koganei, where they are based, in order for local people to casually enjoy an authentic puppet show. Taking advantage of the inconvenience of a small venue, visitors were able to fully enjoy the delicate movements of the puppets, the live Gidayu narration, and the interaction between shamisen and puppets in a condensed space. [Edo Itoayatsuri Ningyo Yuki Za]
During the Edo period when Japanese culture flourished, the first Magosaburo YUKI started his company in Nihonbashi in 1635 (Kanei 12), and it became a company authorized by the bakufu. Magosaburo YUKI the 13th currently serves as the leader. Under the slogan of "two wheels of classics and new works," he has been deepening the classics and traditions, while also projecting the spirit of social satire and avant-garde on the stage in contemporary theater. It has performed not only in Japan but also in dozens of countries around the world, and is the only Itoayatsuri puppet theater company in Japan that has been designated as an intangible cultural property of the nation and Tokyo.
