Business Overview
The appreciation program "Let's go to the museum" for children (including the disabled) in the orphanage reached 6 years in 2020. The museum created a place to connect with people, works, and society through a variety of arts, such as learning about Edo period culture, viewing desired exhibitions (Mummy and Van Gogh exhibitions), listening to Baroque music concerts, and creating appreciation kirokusheets. This program features an art communicator who carefully and individually addresses the children, sending them invitations in advance and work cards to reflect on them afterwards, loosely connecting their daily life with the viewing experience. Since August 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic made it difficult to go out to the museum as usual, so the "Let's go to the museum ~ Picture postcard appreciation event ~" was devised and implemented. A postcard of the artwork, a kilo sheet with comments from the art communicator, and an art file were mailed to each child in the facility so that they could enjoy viewing the artwork remotely and feel a connection with the art communicator. The facility acted as a facilitator, and the participants were pleased to hear that it was an opportunity to reflect on the experience of "Let's Go to the Museum." A total of 66 children (from elementary school students to university students) from 4 institutions participated.

Profile
[knock-knock]
Established in 2014 by 3 volunteer art communicators of the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum and Tokyo University of the Arts "Tobira Project," it is currently operated by 13 people. 21 "Let's go to the museum" meetings were held for orphanages that do not have the opportunity to go to the museum, and a "picture postcard appreciation event" was held during the COVID-19 pandemic. A total of 221 children (5 to 20 years old) from 5 institutions will experience various art experiences at museums, on street corners, and with postcards. In 2017, we were commissioned to manage 1 of the inclusive programs by Museum Start Aiueno (sponsored by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and others).
