Business Overview

It is an association of female Gidayu and Kamigata mai. Although both were born in Kamigata, they are rarely performed at the same time. First, Kamigata mai (Kamigata dance) 'Manzai' by Wakashizuki YAMAMURA, Kamigata mai (Kamigata dance) 'Kurogami' by Wakashizuki YAMAMURA, and 'Tsubozaka Kannon Reigenki Sawa City Section' by Koshitaka TAKEMOTO and Kanya TSURUSAWA are performed in succession. The last Kamigatamai dance, 'Tamatori ama,' was performed in collaboration with Gidayu and Kamigatamai dance by adding original staging such as changes in arrangement and dance. By first performing each art in another program in a general way, it was compared with the collaboration 'Tamatori ama.'. The waka and sangen were played by Joji MURASAWA, and the kotsuzumi was played by Taue MOCHIZUKI.

Profile

[Wakashizuki YAMAMURA]
Began Japanese dance at the age of three and studied under Wakasaki YAMAMURA. He opened training halls in Osaka and Tokyo as a master of Kamigata mai (Kamigata dance) and Yamamura school, which had been handed down mainly in the red-light districts of Kyoto and Osaka. In addition to participating in dance performances and training disciples, he has gained popularity as one of the performers who can widely talk about the charm of Kamigata's traditional performing arts. He wrote "Kamigata Traditional Performing Arts Annai" (Sogensha) under his real name, Hatsune HORIGUCHI. He presided over Seiki-kai.
