"Senga YAMAKI"
She was born as the eldest daughter of Senga YAMAKI, the sixth iemoto of Yamada school of sokyoku Yamaki school. He studied under Kameyama Konomashi and Chiyoga FUJII. Graduated from the Graduate School of Music, Tokyo University of the Arts. He received Ataka Prize in 1996 and silver prize in Kenjun Memorial National Sokyoku Contest in 2004. In 2003, he became a trainee under the Domestic Training Program for Emerging Artists of the Agency for Cultural Affairs. He studied under Yamahiko Ryobashi and Living National Treasure Yamahiko 1000 Shishi. Held 12 recitals including performances in the Agency for Cultural Affairs Arts Festival. He has also been active on TV and radio, including NHKFM's "A Moment of Japanese Music" and NHKE TV's "Nippon no Geino". On November 7, 2018, he held a performance announcing the succession of Senga YAMAKI the Seventh at the National Theater. He released CDs "Koto-Nana" and "Senga YAMAKI the seventh, commemorating his succession" from Hogaku no Tomosha.
Currently, he is a director of the Japan Sankyoku Association, a director of the Yamada School Sokyoku Association, a chair of Yamaki-kai, and a part-time lecturer of Kyoto University of Arts.
