Business Overview

An exhibition of contemporary art by Sansui Tokyo. "Urban landscape" literally translates to "urban landscape". Landscape paintings and dry landscapes that flourished in the past sought utopia far from "city = secular world", but the members of Shansui Tokyo who live in the present day find the inseparable relationship between nature and man, that is, the state of undivided subject and object at the core of landscape thought, while imagining familiar things in the city, which is the foundation of their daily lives. The Spanish style, earthquake-resistant wall structure, and practical composition of the garden, which symbolize the Kudan House, which became the exhibition venue, convey the thoughts of people who have cherished their daily lives, and are also connected to the concept of this exhibition, which questions the imagination of familiar objects. By seamlessly connecting works by contemporary artists with furniture that has been used since before the war, stately Western-style buildings and modern gardens, private grounds and public urban spaces, this exhibition blurs the boundaries between subject and object, and invites viewers into the world of landscape.
