Business Overview

The purpose of this article is to revisit Tatsumi HIJIKATA's representative work "Hoso-tan" performed in 1972, and to clarify its significance as a dance work. In particular, he will examine Hijikata's thoughts and analyze the characteristics of his works from the remaining recorded images and music, as well as explore the ideological background and basis of his works through research in Hijikata's hometown Akita, and clarify the body expression of Tatsumi HIJIKATA in the history of dance and the innovation of "Hoso-tan."

Budo Creative Resources has been involved in the collection, preservation and public exhibition of dance materials of Tatsumi Hijikata, the founder of dance, in cooperation with the Tatsumi Hijikata Archive at Keio University Art Center. Furthermore, based on these dance materials, he has been conducting research and studies on the dance of Tatsumi HIJIKATA and spreading the results widely. He also plans and produces exhibitions, symposiums, workshops, and dance performances related to dance, and works to popularize dance.
