Business Overview

The 52 th Regular Concert was meaningful in that it was able to raise an issue about the way composition competitions should be by performing works that were highly evaluated at composition competitions in Japan and abroad, centering on works by Mayuzumi. Established in 1994, it aims to introduce contemporary music through excellent performances by being directly involved with the works of current composers. In addition to regular concerts in Tokyo and various music festivals in Japan, he has performed at major contemporary music festivals around the world, starting with France and Germany in 96. In 2012, he was invited by Radio France for the second time and introduced works of different nationalities and aesthetics through the broadcast of his performances. It has so far featured works by more than 140 contemporary composers, commissioned new pieces from 17 composers of different generations, and performed world and Japanese premieres. In 10, he won the 10 Keizo SAJI Prize for 'The 28 th Regular Concert, Joji YUASA Special Feature', in 13, he won the Record Academy Award (Contemporary Composers Category) for his CD 'Tokyo Symphonietta Plays Akira Nishimura 2/Tennyo Sanka', and in 15, he won the Competition Committee Special Prize for his performance at the 84 th Japan Music Competition. It is highly regarded not only in Japan but also overseas.
