Business Overview
The composer Yoriaki MATSUDAIRA is one of the most important composers in post-World War II Japan, but his true value is still not well known. In particular, it is only by viewing several works in a cross-section that the aspect of systematic thinking diffusing in many directions becomes clear. Therefore, thinking that it was necessary to look back on chamber music works in which his personality was particularly clear, the exhibition was initially planned to be held on February 27, 2021. However, due to the spread of the novel coronavirus, it was postponed to February 18, 2022. The event has now been successfully held. The songs selected represent each period: "Variations for violin, cello, and piano" from the 1950s (1957), “Coherency for Ark ” from the 1970s (1976),“ Genesis ” from the 1980s (1981), “Sparkle ” from the 1990s (1997),“ Contrapposition ” from the 2000s (2004), and “String Quartet No. 3 ‘ Poisson's Play ’ ” from the 2010s (2011) 2014. It was a valuable opportunity to introduce the works that Yoriaki MATSUDAIRA wrote at each turning point in his life, along with their correlation with the historical background of music. In addition to the distribution, it was broadcast twice (May, December) on NHK-FM, and I think that one of the achievements was the creation of a high-quality archive.
