Business Overview

This project aimed to hand down wonderful works and create new art through three worlds: classical music, the ideal goal of building a bridge between classical and contemporary music: Toru Takemitsu, and contemporary music: the first performance of commissioned new works. The program includes Toru Takemitsu's representative works for viola, "A Bird Descends on the Road" and "A String Around Autumn," the world premiere of "Autumn Nocturne" by young contemporary composer Shiki Gen, who won the Toru Takemitsu Composition Award in 2019, and the commissioned world premiere of "Unaccompanied Viola Sonata - Chagall no Pictorial Style." He invited Takushi SATO as a pianist. After the performance, Siki Gen, who was invited from Austria, joined the group and gave a talk session about his work.

【 Mari Adachi 】
Graduated from Toho Gakuen University, studied chamber music at the National University of Music in Vienna, and completed a master's course as a soloist at the École Supérieure de Lausanne. He pursued his studies both in Japan and overseas. From 2013, he served as deputy principal player of the Innsbruck Symphony Orchestra for 2 years. In 2019, she performed in the recital series "B → C" sponsored by the Tokyo Opera City Foundation, which is known as a gateway to success for young musicians. Since then, he has actively held viola recitals and has a reputation for unique programming that emphasizes concepts.
He is currently the guest principal viola player of the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra. He is also active as a soloist and chamber musician.
