Business Overview
The musical "Thinking Reed" is the second original musical created by the creator unit NEM KiT, composed by writer, director and choreographer Rino Kumamoto and composer and music director Futa Totani. The theme of this work project is "What do we believe in living in Japan?". At the end of 2021, participants were invited from the public as research, and a workshop was held over several days to explore the theme. For many people with a Japanese identity, phrases like faith, religion, god ... are often somewhat low-resolution or obscure. However, it does not mean that there is nothing to do with each person's outlook on life and indicators of living, and if you dig deeper, it somehow becomes a pillar of each person that is absolutely unnegotiable, or there is an image that is somehow considered to be a common sense. During the workshop discussion, I thought, "Are you God anymore?". This time, I set gods that appear in Japanese mythology such as the Kojiki and Nihonshoki as motifs for all characters, and expanded the theme to include family, region, roots, and hometown as a kind of faith. It is a "mirrored collage" of Kami and us, with seamless expression using many modern colloquial words and movements, which are characteristic for a Japanese original musical, and a groovy sound incorporating a variety of music from alternative country, soul rock, pop, Japanese rap and folk songs. < Performers > Aoi Onishi, Sayaka Okamura, Nozomi Kasuga, Chionzu Sato, Yuuka Take, tekkan Fukazawa, Moeka Fukazawa, Natsuhime Yamamoto < Staff > Script, Lyrics, Direction, Choreography: Rino Kumamoto Composition, Music Director: Futa Totani Assistant: Kokoro Yamamoto Planning, Production, Organizer: NEM KiT
