Business Overview

Aiming to pass on the charms of the shamisen, a musical instrument unique to Japan, and disseminate it to the world, this project realized the philosophy of the Shamisen Expression Association, which is to freely enjoy the shamisen as a musical instrument apart from tradition, by performing not only traditional shamisen music but also original music of performers from pop to jazz, and showed how genre-less musical expression with the shamisen is possible. The shamisen players were Momonan IWATA, Shamio and Jakku. The co-stars are Sano Mikihito (percussion), Umei Misaki (piano) and Iwata Akira (bass).
