Business Overview

The "Capsizing Bodies: Art, Gender and Media" exhibition is a group exhibition that considers the multilayered nature of identity, including sexual diversity, starting with the body, which is most familiar to us and reflects our reality. From simple questions such as "what is the physical" and "how are the boundaries of the body defined," this exhibition approaches grand questions such as "what can be communicated through the body in various social situations and historical contexts". In addition, this exhibition introduces artists and their works that respond to these questions through various media such as photography, video, and installation. We aim to create a forum where their unique messages and expressions can serve as an opportunity to discuss values and perspectives related to the body.

Profile

【 Overturning Body Executive Committee 】
Based in Tokyo. Based on a global perspective, we plan and organize events such as exhibitions and talks about contemporary artists working in Japan and overseas and their activities. The aim is to work with contemporary artists who address various social issues in countries around the world, especially those faced by minority communities, and communicate through their own artistic expressions. By creating opportunities for the exchange of diverse and region-specific perspectives, we aim to create a forum that brings together local and global communities.
