[Japan Children's and Youth Theater Company Cooperative Association]
After World War II, in response to the nationwide expansion of performance activities by theater companies specializing in performing plays for children, it was established in 1975 as the Japan Children's Theater Company Association (later renamed the Japan Children's and Youth Theater Company Association) with the three goals of "establishing a professional foundation for children's and youth theater," "protecting the health and livelihood of children and youth theater professionals," and "realizing nationwide issues related to children's and youth theater." In 2001, it became a business cooperative with approval from the the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, and the official name was' Japan Children's and Youth Theater Company Cooperative Association '(Jo-Enkyo for short).
